History of Sagamore Hills
The area where Sagamore Hills sits was once agricultural land and was part of a large farm that stretched to what is now Century Center. The community’s population started to grow in the 1920s when enterprising families moved to the area to set up businesses. Particularly noteworthy was the Williams family who opened the Williams Brothers Lumber Company in 1922, and became one of the founders of the Sagamore Hills community. The neighborhood association, Sagamore Hills Civic Association, was established in the 1960s and is currently responsible for maintaining the entrances to the subdivision, overseeing zoning issues, and organizing community activities. The association collects annual dues from residents. Sagamore
